Finding Your Way Forward:
Post-Diagnosis Support
for Parents of Neurodivergent Children
After diagnosis your child is still the same — yet for us parents, everything feels different. For parents, the fear, stress and self-doubt are real — and so is the support to help you through.

My role is to walk alongside you: to help you steady your emotions so you can steady theirs, to build your confidence so you can make the hard choices, and to strengthen your self-belief so you can pass that same belief on to your child.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are the benefits of counselling?
A: Counselling gives you a safe, supportive space to untangle your thoughts and feelings. It’s not about fixing you — it’s about giving you tools, strategies, and compassion so you can feel lighter, calmer, and more like yourself.
Q: Is this confidential?
A: Yes. Everything you share is kept private and confidential. Your story is safe with me.
Q: Are you qualified?
A: Yes. I hold a masters in counselling, am an accredited member with the Australian Counselling Association and committed to ongoing professional development and growth. Neurodiversity is a passion area of mine and I can never know or learn enough. You can feel confident you’re working with someone who is trained and accountable.
Q: Do you understand what it's like?
A: Absolutely. I’m a late diagnoses AuADHDer myself - I am also raising a neurodivergent human. I am passionate about making this journey easier - as parenting is hard enough already. I feel priviledged to be able to work in my passion area and every spare moment I have I am learning more in relation to neurodivergence. This is a space where you don’t have to worry about being judged — you’ll be met with understanding by a fellow parent that 'gets it'.
Q: What if I’m not sure how many sessions I need?
A: That’s okay. We’ll talk it through in a free discovery call and find the best fit for you. Some mums start with three sessions to make sense of the diagnosis, while others choose six to have longer lasting support and understanding. Others decide to take sessions one at a time at the standard rate.
Q: How long do I have to use sessions?
A: I understand that sometimes life gets busy and things get too much and we need to press pause, so I give clients a year to use session so you can set the pace that works for you.
Q: Is this the same as getting a diagnosis?
A: No. I don’t provide assessments or medical treatment. This package is for post-diagnosis support — helping you process, understand, and move forward after you’ve received your diagnosis. If you feel additional diagnoses, or medication may be beneficial I am able to refer you to someone who is able to support with that.
Q: Can I bring my partner?
A: Yes - absolutely. Sometimes a key part of the process is understanding the different pages you are on and paving a pathway forward and together. It is important that your relationship is in a place of strong foundation to start - if not we might need to look at some relationship counselling first so you both feel safe being honest and vulnerable about where you are at. We can discuss this in the intro call to work out what might be right for you.
Q: What if I get emotional in sessions?
A: That’s completely okay. Emotions are welcome here. Tears, laughter, silence — they’re all part of the process. This is a space where you don’t have to hold it all together.
Q: What can I expect?
A: You can expect a warm, empathetic, and supportive environment where you set the goals and we work towards them together. By the end of our time, you can expect to have met some of your goals, feel heard, calmer and more confident - knowing you are not alone.
Q: What if I change my mind?
A: I’ve designed these packages to make quality support more affordable, because no one should have to navigate this journey alone. I never want clients to feel trapped, so if life changes or you need to stop sessions, that’s absolutely fine. I’ll refund you the difference between the package price and the cost of the sessions you’ve already had (billed individually at $150 per hour ex GST). There’s no risk to you — and you’ll still keep the bonus workbook as a thank you gift.

About Freya
Hi, I’m Freya — the neurodivergent brain and heart behind Mumshine. I created this package because I know how overwhelming it can feel to finally get a diagnosis, only to be left with more questions than answers. As a counsellor, coach, AuDHDer, mum, wife, and fur-parent (in no particular order!), I’m passionate about walking alongside women as they navigate life after diagnosis. Through Mumshine, I bring together the tools, warmth, and real-life honesty I wish I’d had on my own journey — so you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

This work matters to me. What happens after diagnosis is where the real story begins, and together we can shape that story with clarity and compassion.
